About 12 years ago I was in an accident that left me in major pain. Sleeping became something I had to endure. When I would wake up in the morning I was NOT well rested because all night I would wake up in pain.

There were times I had to wake up my husband to help me roll over. I had to lift my head with my hand and turn it, because I simply couldn’t bear the pain of moving it. And in the morning getting out of bed was for me ASAP.

I used to joke that "sleeping is what I do best."

However the last couple of years, I just was not sleeping well. When I went to bed, I couldn't seem to get comfortable. When I did sleep, it was not restful sleep. I tossed and turned and flipped and flopped throughout the night. Each morning when I got out of bed, I felt like I had been the loser in a wrestling match.

Odd, when I think back now, that I somehow adapted to this ritualistic pattern of restless sleep and aching back, shoulders and hips. Sure, I was mighty unhappy with the loss of sleep and aching body parts. But assuming that my age (that would be fall hen age) was the culprit, I believed there was no solution to the problem.

My two senior bulldgos hobbled around as badly as I did in the mornings, and I worried they were not resting comfortably at night either. After doing some research, I purchased a couple of memory foam beds for them. The beds made an amazing difference -- my dogs were sleeping better, and were not limping in the mornings as they did before sleeping in their new beds.

I had never really seriously considered that my mattress might be contributing to my restless sleep. Afterall, I had a popular namebrand matteress that was only a few years old. Nevertheless, I couldn't ignore the differnce in my dogs. So, I began doing my research.

How fortunate that I ran across Chuck Harmon. He is a wealth of information, and I appreciate the professional guidance he provided to me. I got just what I needed from Chuck.

I am telling you --- this thing is the BOMB! It feels great to crawl into bed now. Plus, I sleep throughout the night, just like in the old days. What a wonderful thing to wake up rested without aches and pains.

The memory foam topper was the solution to my problem. My only regret is that I didn't get one earlier. Just think, all that needless loss of sleep...

Why isn't there an industry-wide ratings system to insure quality standards among the different brands?

After all that being said, now that I am better educated and entirely thanks to you, I now know what to look for.

The reason I came up with my question was for everybody else out there who doesn't know who Chuck is, they should not be taken advantage of.

If you go into any store, and ask about a memory foam mattress, they all say that theirs is the best. The last mattress we had was one of those "it's the best".

After having it for about a year, it is by far the worst POS, NO comparison to yours.

In fact, before we decided to buy yours we went to Rooms to Go and looked at their mattresses and of course they were the best.

However, now with ammunition, (the 5 questions) and after letting the sales guy dig himself a hole, I asked "Is it temp. sensitive, USA foam, weight" ETC, boy oh boy the back pedalling was fun to hear.

So, having some sort of quality standard would be nice with so many people BS-ing you just to make the sale.

A temporary Bailiff was visiting my court last week. On a break, I overhear him talking to everyone about his desire to buy a new memory foam mattress down the road a piece. He says he can't afford a TempurPedic but he is going to start looking around at others. So I spring into action.

I tell him I have a book he needs to read which discussed the 5 pitfalls to avoid in shopping for a memory foam mattress. He is delighted.

A few days later he comes back in and announces that he had gone shopping at "Mattress Jacks" (name changed) in (City)...a garage store that caters to U.C.S.B. College Students on a limited budget. He looks at "Jacks" best memory foam for about $1,000.00.

So he asks the golden questions.

"Is this American foam?" Answer: "oh, no...because of the expense, almost no memory foam comes from the U.S....it comes from Asian countries."

Question: "is this 5 lb or greater density?" Answer: "No, but it IS over 3 lb. density and that's all you really need."

Question: "Is this foam temperature sensitive?" Answer: "Well, I'll be honest with you here. The only complaints that I get with this mattress is that it sleeps hot..."

When asked if there was any type of return policy, the response was..."Well, not at this price!"

Mr. Bailiff told "Mattress Jack" that he would have to get back to him....then he asked for your website to contact you. Go figure.
